Prostaglandin gel work?

I am going to get prostaglandin gel inserted tomorrow morning && i was just wondering if it really works or not? im already 2 centi dilated and 70 % effaced. and iv already lost my mucus plug(yuck) & i really am scared its not going to work and they will send me home... please help
